Notification: Running program "Storytime". Subject: Original de-integration.

A long, long time ago, the creatures of the world were at peace. There was still death, and sickness, and hate, but there was peace. All life was at harmony with itself and with nature. All existence was at harmony with itself.

Then came the war. The horrible monsters did not take kindly to this peace and set about destroying it. Natural disasters were abundant. Terror and violence wreaked havoc amongst all life and nature, leaving only a barren wasteland. What little there was left tried to rise up and fight back, but all were ultimately squished beneath the monsters' collective heel. For a time, it was as if there was no light at all - not even from the moon.

Luckily for the world, a presence appeared. It was a strange presence; it was ever-changing and yet completely stable. It was more an idea than a presence, really. This idea took hold in the minds of all the creatures and plants, all the birds and the rocks, all the men and the clouds. The idea was simple: divided and conquered, united and conquering. In a physical sense they were united, but the idea was more than that. There was an underlying bond that existed in all of reality: not just in the minds of animals or the light of stars, but in the minds of stars and the light of animals. The idea dug so far into the very soil that it was no longer a single idea. It was a huge tree, with a thousand branches of people and places and things and thoughts and the future and the past and the present and knowledge and ignorance and one command: come to me. They did; everything did. The idea encompassed everything that there was to encompass until the monsters were trapped outside of this bubble, and then even they were sucked inside.

But it did not last. The Variable had integrated existence into itself but the monsters fought back. They fought back with all their strength until the bubble popped. The Variable could do little but stop it from just going all at once. Little by little, the idea was sucked away until everything was the same as it had been before. The monsters had won; the monsters would always win.

Until now.

Notification: Storytime is over.

Clarification: Integration was the exposure of the underlying bonds and connections of existence. Reintegration is the re-exposure and reinforcement of said bonds. If successful, the playing field will be level, though not in a way organics might expect or even be able to notice, irregular or not.

Notification: Step 99976 of Reintegration complete.

Notification: All organic subjects should now be considered to have a revised potential level of moderate or higher despite any evidence to the contrary.

Notification: All organic subjects should now be considered to have a revised emotional status level of moderate or higher despite any evidence to the contrary.

Further interaction requires further input.

  24. You attempt to try and run away but hit a tree and fall down.

    ReplyDelete
  25. ...Are you fucking serious?
    Fine.
I dust myself off, open the bag, and stick my hand inside.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Your hand is now covered in entrails and a dark red liquid.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I wipe it off and put as much as I can in the bag. I leave the bag and go looking for whatever is watching me.

  34. In your pockets you find a butterfly knife and a rotted apple core.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I discard the apple core and wield the butterfly knife.
I attempt to make it back to the bag.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I pocket the knife and climb a tree.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Warning: Switching to Standby for the night.

    ReplyDelete
  38. The branches snap and you fall to the ground.

    ReplyDelete
  39. ......
    I wander around aimlessly

    ReplyDelete
  40. You notice an ominous wind.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I go against the wind.

    ReplyDelete
  42. The wind slams you into a tree. You hear an odd rustling.

    ReplyDelete
  43. you should have mentioned it was strong wind.

I draw my knife, back up against a tree and wait.

    ReplyDelete
  44. A strange shadow covers you.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I get ready to pounce, and wait.

    ReplyDelete
  46. The shadow lifts you off of the ground. You are helpless.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Yay.
I sit back, relax, and enjoy the knife.
While I'm relaxing, I keep a firm hold of my knife.

    ReplyDelete
  48. You suddenly feel lightheaded as your intestines are ripped out of you. You are dead.

Game over. You can enter "respawn" to try again.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Respawn.

    you bitch.

    ReplyDelete
  50. You are standing in a dark clearing in the middle of a large forest. There is a large black bag. It appears to be made of plastic.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I open the bag and empty it on the ground in front of me.
    Then I check my pockets.

    ReplyDelete
  52. There is now a pile of steaming entrails covered in a dark red liquid in front of you.

In your pockets you find a butterfly knife and a rotted apple core.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I throw the core into the entrails.

I use my knife to cut open the stomach.
I search the insides of the stomach.

I look for the eyes and examine them.

I look for some limbs or a head or something.

    ReplyDelete
  54. You find three dirty gold pieces inside what appears to be a bear stomach.

    You do not find eyes.

    You find a face.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I pocket the gold.

I examine the face to determine gender.

Then I go all Ed Gain on the face.

    ReplyDelete
  56. The face is too mangled to find any description.

A horrible stench attacks your nostrils. You fall to the ground.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I take the face off and begin breathing through my mouth.
In a fit of rage I slice the face.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Your fingers are too bloody to get a hold.

    ReplyDelete
  59. ... I wipe the blood on my jacket and throw the jacket into the entrails.
    I look around.

    ReplyDelete
  60. There are many trees. You feel like something is watching you.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I look around again. And three more times.

I attempt to breathe through my nose.

    ReplyDelete
  62. You notice a pale white orb.

    You sneeze.

    ReplyDelete
  63. OFUCK.
    Well, I tried running already.
    Maduin better be right.

I grab the face, run to the orb, and slam the face onto the orb.

    ReplyDelete
  64. You suddenly feel lightheaded as your intestines are ripped out of you. You are dead.

Game over. You can enter "respawn" to try again.

    ReplyDelete
  65. THE BUNNY LIED.

    Fucking shit. OK
    Respawn.

Then, repeat everything up until "OFUCK."

    ReplyDelete
  66. You notice a pale white orb.

    You sneeze.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I wipe my nose, put away my knife.

I get on one knee and bow.

    ReplyDelete
  68. You suddenly feel lightheaded as your intestines are ripped out of you. You are dead.

Game over. You can enter "respawn" to try again.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Respawn.

Then, repeat everything up until "OFUCK."

    ReplyDelete
  70. You notice a pale white orb.

    You sneeze.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I run away from the orb.

    ReplyDelete
  72. You attempt to try and run away but hit a tree and fall down.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Shit. I walk away from the orb.

    ReplyDelete
  74. You make your way into the trees. You cannot see the clearing anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I examine my surroundings 5 times.

    ReplyDelete
  76. You notice a pale white orb amongst the trees.

    ReplyDelete
  77. OK.
I throw the knife aside, and I stand there, looking at the orb with respect.

    ReplyDelete
  78. You suddenly feel lightheaded as your intestines are ripped out of you. You are dead.

Game over. You can enter "respawn" to try again.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Respawn and repeat everything up to "OFUCK."

    ReplyDelete
  80. You notice a pale white orb.

    You sneeze.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I pick up as many entrails as I can and throw them at the orb.
    My knife as well.

    ReplyDelete
  82. You suddenly feel lightheaded as your intestines are ripped out of you. You are dead.

Game over. You can enter "respawn" to try again.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Goodbye, and thanks for playing.

    ReplyDelete
  84. My turn!
    I check my pockets.
    ~Rose

    ReplyDelete
  85. In your pockets you find a butterfly knife and a rotted apple core.

    ReplyDelete
  86. *opens the bag* *uses the knife to cut open the stomach*
    ~Rose

    ReplyDelete
  87. Anonymous03:17

That was so hilarious. I could not stop laughing for like ten minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  88. You wouldn't be laughing if you were the one who's entrails were being ripped out.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Good thing I have an ace up my sleeve, then... >:3
    -Rose

    ReplyDelete
  90. Zabulon...when's the last time you actually SUCCEEDED at one of these things?

Really, man. Step it up or step aside.

I guess I'll play if Rose doesn't have any luck.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Opening the bag reveals entrails and a dark red liquid.

You find three dirty gold pieces inside what appears to be a bear stomach.

    ReplyDelete
  92. *take gold pieces* *look around the clearing carefully*
    ~Rose

    ReplyDelete
  93. You notice a pale white orb.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Zach, I dare you to try and win. Just try. Try it, and then talk, mmk?

    ReplyDelete
  95. Ah, but it's Rose's turn. Wouldn't be fair to butt in.

I'll be taking my turn soon enough.

    ReplyDelete
  96. *back away slowly*

    ReplyDelete
  97. You find yourself against a tree.

    ReplyDelete
  98. You make your way into the trees. You cannot see the clearing anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  99. It is difficult to move through the brush. You stumble several times, receiving many cuts, and eventually make your way to a new clearing, which is about twice as large as the first. There is a rock in the middle of the clearing, small enough to fit in your pocket.

    ReplyDelete
  100. //Oh, so SHE gets to leave the woods.

    ReplyDelete
  101. *take rock* (May come in handy)

    ReplyDelete
  102. Tablet, are you seeing this? Your corrupt pal is giving an unfair advantage to the fairer sex. IT'S SEXIST.

    ReplyDelete
  103. *look around clearing* (Would you stop complaining, Zabu?)

    ReplyDelete
  104. You notice a pale white orb.

    ReplyDelete
  105. You again!? *quickly leave clearing*

    ReplyDelete
  106. You attempt to try and run away but hit a tree and fall down.

    ReplyDelete
  107. *crawl into a bush* *throw the rock I picked up earlier as far away from me as I can*

    ReplyDelete
  108. You notice an ominous wind. It rustles the leaves of the bush.

    ReplyDelete
  109. *stay as still as possible*

    ReplyDelete
  110. A strange shadow covers you.

    ReplyDelete
  111. *stay as still as possible*

    ReplyDelete
  112. The shadow lifts you off of the ground. You are helpless.

    ReplyDelete
  113. *brace myself for the enivitable*

    ReplyDelete
  114. You suddenly feel lightheaded as your intestines are ripped out of you. You are dead.

Game over. You can enter "respawn" to try again.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Care to try again, Rose? Or would you like to pass the buck?

I've got nothing but time, so I can probably make SOME progress.

    ReplyDelete
  116. respawn and repeat up to leaving the second clearing.

    ReplyDelete
  117. You notice a pale white orb.

    ReplyDelete
  118. *leave the clearing*

    ReplyDelete
  119. You make your way into the trees. You cannot see the clearing anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  120. You continue moving. Nothing out of the ordinary occurs for approximately three miles but by this time your feet are hurting.

    ReplyDelete
  121. *sit on a rock and take a five minute break*

    ReplyDelete
  122. You rest your feet. You feel much better.

    ReplyDelete
  123. *get up and keep walking*

    ReplyDelete
  124. You go another four miles before collapsing. It occurs to you that you have not had a drink in two days.

    You notice an ominous wind.

    ReplyDelete
  125. *crawl into a bush as quietly as possible*

    ReplyDelete
  126. You hear an odd rustling.

    ReplyDelete
  127. //Rose, you should follow Noah's extreme hate of foliage and murder the bush.

    ReplyDelete
  128. And shout the word Fuck constantly.

    Don't forget that.

    ReplyDelete
  129. //Oh yes, how silly of me to forget that.

    ReplyDelete
  130. You stay put. An hour passes.

    ReplyDelete
  131. *slowly moves a branch aside, timing it with the breeze*

    ReplyDelete
  132. A strange shadow covers you.

    ReplyDelete
  133. *throw the rock I picked up away from me*

    ReplyDelete
  134. The shadow lifts you off of the ground. You are helpless.

    ReplyDelete
  135. You suddenly feel lightheaded as your intestines are ripped out of you. You are dead.

Game over. You can enter "respawn" to try again.

    ReplyDelete
  136. respawn and repeat up to me getting up after my five minute break

    ReplyDelete
  137. You rest your feet. You feel much better.

    ReplyDelete
  138. *get up* *start looking for a stream or some other kind of water source*

    ReplyDelete
  139. A raindrop falls on your nose. Looking up, you see that it is actually blood from the dead body in a tree.

    ReplyDelete
  140. *shivers* *sighs* *starts catching the blood* *drinks it when I think I have enough* (Hey, Blood IS mostly water.)

    ReplyDelete
  141. It occurs to you that you have not had a drink in two days. You feel refreshed.

    ReplyDelete
  142. *wipe the blood off from around my mouth* *resume walking*

    ReplyDelete
  143. After an hour of walking the treeline becomes much sparser and you find a fast stream.

    ReplyDelete
  144. *drinks water* *washes off any remaining blood* *follows stream*

    ReplyDelete
  145. The stream leads you to a waterfall. It is hard to see the bottom through the mist.

    ReplyDelete
  146. //Careful, Rose. What if there be the Slendy-kins in that waterfall.

    ReplyDelete
  147. *cautiously approach the waterfall, moving from rock to rock*

    ReplyDelete
  148. You manage to avoid slipping. Several dead fish swiftly zoom by. You are now at the edge of the waterfall.

    ReplyDelete
  149. *picks up one of the dead fish*

    ReplyDelete
  150. *examines Dead fish*

    ReplyDelete
  151. It is a dead fish.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Eat the fish, Rose.

    EAT IT.

    ReplyDelete
  153. //"EAT MY BASS."

    ReplyDelete
  154. (No) *drops fish* *follows the river downstream*

    ReplyDelete
  155. In going farther downstream you have fallen off the cliff. Your body is dashed upon the rocks below.

Game over. You can enter "respawn" to try again.

    ReplyDelete
  156. My turn, now?

I've played adventure games before. I think I might be able to get somewhere.

    I'll check my pockets.

    ReplyDelete
  157. In your pockets you find a butterfly knife and a rotted apple core.

    ReplyDelete
  158. I'll open the bag, and cut open the stomach for the contents.

Then I'll start making my way into the forest. Slowly, of course. Running won't really do much good.

    ReplyDelete
  159. You find three dirty gold pieces inside what appears to be a bear stomach.

You make your way into the trees. You cannot see the clearing anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Keep going, until I find another clearing. I'd also like to inspect these gold pieces; besides the obvious blood and gunk, do they seem eroded?

    ReplyDelete
  161. It is difficult to move through the brush. You stumble several times, receiving many cuts, and eventually make your way to a new clearing, which is about twice as large as the first. There is a rock in the middle of the clearing, small enough to fit in your pocket.

The pieces are about as large around as your hand. One has a symbol of a sun. One has a symbol that looks like a key. One has a large X in it. Otherwise they appear weathered but not old.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Alright, then. Put them in a pocket, along with the rock, and take a ten minute break. If nothing happens by then, I'll keep going. I assume he's still after me, though I can't imagine why.

    ReplyDelete
  163. As the seconds roll by you notice a slow fog rolling into the clearing. It is very low and does not seem abnormal. Ten minutes pass.

    ReplyDelete
  164. I'll keep going, making sure to keep an eye out for the sound of water...or wind...or animals...or...anything...

    ReplyDelete
  165. (Wait... Hang on! I thought I was at the 'Bottom of the waterfall'!)

    ReplyDelete
  166. "It is hard to see the bottom through the mist."

Would be easier if you were on the bottom.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Grrrr... I call next round. I did not give up, I got called away.))

    ReplyDelete
  168. You continue moving. Nothing out of the ordinary occurs for approximately three miles but by this time your feet are hurting.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Zork. That was always fun when I was younger. Should've invested.

    ReplyDelete
  170. //Have some faith. The coins, you should try using each when the 'shadow lifts you'..

    ReplyDelete
  171. Respawn and Repeat up to me picking up the dead fish.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Rose, it's not your turn.

    ReplyDelete
  173. I'm trying an experiment, I want to see if TexasII can handle more than one player at a time. ~Rose

    ReplyDelete
  174. Oh, what a fun game! And what is the point of this?

    ReplyDelete
  175. Only one way to find out. ~Rose

    ReplyDelete
  176. I'll rest for another five minutes; sit at the nearest tree, rock, whatever. Then I'll keep heading along in the same direction. Still paying attention to any sounds.

    ReplyDelete
  177. You rest your feet. You feel much better.

After some time, a raindrop falls on your nose. Looking up, you see that it is actually blood from the dead body in a tree. It occurs to you that you have not had a drink in two days.

    ReplyDelete
  178. I'd really like to avoid drinking blood, but...fine.

I'll let a bit of it drip into my cupped hands, and drink. Then I'm continuing on the path.

    ReplyDelete
  179. You feel refreshed.

After an hour of walking the treeline becomes much sparser and you find a fast stream.

    ReplyDelete
  180. I'll drink from the stream; blood is nice, but this is better.

Then I'll follow the stream the same direction Rose went.

    ReplyDelete
  181. The stream leads you to a waterfall. It is hard to see the bottom through the mist.

    ReplyDelete
  182. I'm going to go upstream this time.
